Our Profile

Ambedkar Centre for Justice and Peace (ACJP) is a registered non-governmental and non-profit volunteer organization founded in 2003 with its India headquarters at Mumbai and regional offices and branch offices spreading around the country. ACJP achieved a status of an international organization and became a member of CONGO (Umbrella NGO committee with UN consultative status and member NGO committee on UNICEF) that has branches around the world.

ACJP is named in honour of Bharatratna Dr. Bhimrao Ramji Ambedkar, India’s foremost human rights champion (1891-1956). He has been recognized as the Chief Architect of the Indian Constitution. He was an emancipator, scholar, social revolutionary, philosopher, historian, economist, anthropologist and a great visionary. His invaluable devotion and dedication to the cause of human rights has earned him a special niche in India’s modern history.

ACJP’s mission is to foster recognition of human rights and develop support for the marginalized, indigenous and underprivileged people of India by spreading Human Rights Education and promoting human rights in India.

ACJP has been working for promotion and protection of human rights. It provides legal, physiological, financial and medical assistance to the victims of human rights violations like – atrocities, torture, discrimination etc.

ACJP interacts with various state and national authorities on the issues concerning social, economic, cultural, civil and political rights of most marginalized and underprivileged sections of the society.
